There’s a time and place for leveled readers which are designed to teach the mechanics of reading, step-by-step. Equally important are those books that spark imagination, engagement, and a love of reading: these are the books you’ll find in this collection. We believe that reading should be a joyful experience, not a chore. That’s why we haven’t leveled our books. Some might challenge your readers, while others may feel easy. That’s perfectly okay! The goal is to find the stories that spark curiosity and imagination, with features to support comprehension and build confidence.

What Makes a Bridging Book?

Any good book can be a Bridging Book. Some of the features you’ll find include:
  • Lower Lexile and Reading Levels: Accessible language for building confidence.
  • Visual Support: Pictures and graphics enhance understanding.
  • Captivating Stories: Engaging narratives to keep readers hooked.
  • Conversational Style: Text that feels like real talk.
  • Diverse Text Types: Exposure to various reading formats.
While we plan to continue expanding our collection, for now we’ve focused on the often-overlooked middle grade (ages 9 -12), providing exciting and relevant stories for this discerning audience. Let our Bridging Books help your readers embark on a lifelong love of reading.
